NRCA's Future Executives Institute is a comprehensive and powerful learning experience focusing on leading and managing a thriving roofing business. This three-year program offers participants an in-depth look at leadership theory and practice, and a unique industry networking opportunity while developing their management and communication skills.

FEI is built on 10 core areas essential to small-business operations: leadership, management, strategic planning, human resources, financial management, sales and marketing, roofing industry issues, risk management, family relationships/succession and personal-development skills.

Courses are held at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in Chicago and in conjunction with the International Roofing Expo® and are taught by Northwestern University professors, industry leaders and field experts. Class size reflects qualified candidate applications and can vary.

More than one student from the same company may apply to the program as long as each works in a different physical operation. However, it is not preferred. The success of the FEI experience is rooted in a student's ability to comfortably share thoughts and questions without hesitancy; therefore, two persons from the same company at the same location will not be accepted into the same class. A second candidate from the same company but different location will only be considered if there are seats available, and as such, is subject to an interview by the admissions committee.
Participants will be responsible for completing a variety of challenging projects and assignments. Some will involve individual projects about each participant's company. Others will be team assignments with other class members.
210 students have graduated since the program began in 2002.
